Information Sciences in Imaging 2013 Seminar Series: February
Integration in Imaging and Diagnostic Medicine
The life sciences, and diagnostic medicine in particular, are increasingly becoming an information science with the continued emergence of powerful new technologies to probe and interrogate disease. New methods are critically needed to put this information into context so that it can be effectively translated at the bedside.
I will discuss several different approaches my group has undertaken to try and integrate disparate informational sources at different spatial scales including imaging, cellular biology and genomics. This will include a discussion of our work in radiogenomics, the multi-disciplinary UCLA Rad-Path Clinical Program as well as some of our basic science work.
